Bruce Bukiet is an applied mathematician who has made contributions to numerous areas of mathematical modeling, including detonations, insect infestation,applications of math to biology and baseball. He also works on promoting STEM for K-career to increase the number of people, especially among underrepresented groups, who pursue STEM learning. Related interests include online professional development and digital learning.

My interests with respect to teaching include engaging students and motivating them to want to learn math and to demonstrate the power and application of math to the real world as well as the incorporation of technology to facilitate motivation and learning.

Mathematical modeling of physical phenomena, including biological applications, fluid dynamics and sports. I am also interested in improving math and science education and education in general.
