About Me
Shantanu Sharma is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology since 2021, following a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Irvine. During his PostDoc, he worked with Professor Sharad Mehrotra. He works primarily at the intersection of database management systems and security/privacy. His research interest also includes IoT, blockchains, and ML in databases. One of his papers on secure and privacy-preserving sensor data attestation received the Best Paper award at the IEEE International Symposium on Network Computing and Applications. His work on secure database management systems has been published in tier-one databases conferences, such as ACM SIGMOD, VLDB, and IEEE ICDE, and in several IEEE and ACM Transactions. He received his Ph.D. degree from Ben-Gurion University in Israel, where he worked with Professor Shlomi Dolev. One of his collaborators is Professor Jeffrey Ullman of Stanford University, the 2021 Turing Award winner.
