Sima Bagheri
About Me
I have over 25 years of experience working with geospatial data of land and water resources and their integration into GIS. The NOAA, NASA and NSF have supported my research projects in Geoscience/Geospatial Technology since 1985. I have developed the Remote Sensing/GIS graduate program and received funding from NSF to establish the RS/GIS instructional Laboratory at NJIT to support the curriculum. I was a NASA faculty fellow(19994-1998 and 2001-2002), A Fulbright Scholar (2006) and a CPI on NSF supported Advance Institutional Transformation grant (2006-2009)

Research Interests
Applications of remotely sensed data in natural resources monitoring and management. The focus of my research projects have been on utilization of both airborne/spaceborne imageries and their integrations into GIS with emphasis on modeling and mapping of biooptical and biophysical parameters.
