Research Interests
Burt Kimmelman is a poet, literary scholar and critic, editor, and personal essayist. His writings are concerned with modern and postmodern American poetry, as well as later medieval European literature generally. Along with some memoir, he has also published commentary on art and architecture. At present, he is writing about contemporary avant-garde poetry and art, and his collection of conversations about the affinity between art and poetry is nearing completion. Still in development is a prose meditation on Marcel Proust’s conception of the present and how that has influenced contemporary writers.
