About Me
Eliza (Z.-H.) Michalopoulou received the Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece, in 1988 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Duke University, Durham, NC, in 1990 and 1993, respectively. Currently, she is a Professor of Mathematical Sciences at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ; she is also the Chair of the Department. Her research interests include ocean acoustics, machine learning, Bayesian modeling, inverse problems, and array signal processing. Dr. Michalopoulou is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America, a Senior Member of IEEE, a Member of SIAM, a member of AWM, and a Member of Pi Mu Epsilon.
