Research Interests
My research focuses on understanding the fundamental physics of correlated electron magnetic and superconducting materials by developing and utilizing both experimental and theoretical approaches including synchrotron based IR, UV and x-ray methods. In parallel new and novel laboratory and synchrotron based instrumentation is developed. We conduct in-laboratory materials synthesis and based optical and x-ray measurements. Detailed numerical models are constructed, coded and utilized. The modeling is conducted on systems ranging from desktop to word class super computers with thousands of CPUs. The unique techniques developed for fundamental research are also applied to environmental science and biological problems. This is supported mainly by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy.
