About Me
David C. Venerus is a Professor in the Otto H. York Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at NJIT. Professor Venerus' research interests are in the areas of transport phenomena in soft matter, polymer science and the rheology of complex fluids. This work includes the development and application of novel experimental techniques to investigate anisotropic thermal transport in polymeric materials and to study the rheological behavior of complex fluids such as polymers and biomaterials. He is also interested in the theory of interfacial transport phenomena and its applications. Prior to coming to NJIT in the fall of 2018, he was on the faculty in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at IIT in Chicago from 1989-2018. David also enjoys windsurfing and is an avid mountaineer having summited Mt. Rainier, Mt. Whitney and the Matterhorn.
